Australia is currently experiencing a boom in the VFX and animation industries and there is more demand than ever for Technical Directors needed to help bring the latest digital animation, visualisation and games productions to the screen.
Studios are looking for people with technical problem-solving and coding skills to help them create the production and pipeline tools that allow digital and technical artists to achieve their production outputs and coordinate workflows and technologies.
To help you gain the knowledge and skillsets to kick-start your career in this exciting field, we’re proud to announce the launch of our new subject, ‘Technical Direction for 3D Animation and Graphics Projects’ (subject code: 41801).
Taught by our Technical Lead, Chris French, this subject will help prepare graduates to enter the creative industries in junior technical directing roles, managing the technical aspects of digital production for a range of computer graphics projects, pipelines and industries.
This subject is due to commence in Spring semesters 2022, on Friday, August 5, 2022 and will un once a week on Fridays for 12 weeks.
The subject is offered as a 2nd or 3rd year elective from the School of Computer Science, but can be also taken as a non-award subject as long as requisites or equivalent have been met. Applying students should have a strong background in coding. Spaces are limited, so make sure to enrol now to secure your place.
